there should be an explanation at the beginning stating of some kind of opening techniques (swedish/petrissage techniques) that warm up the muscles and get the blood flowing the the area being prepped for deep tissue massage.

this MT has the WORST ergonomics ever…. she has her hand in a fist, so she’s hyperextending… She pushed the drape line and massaged under…
woah. poor poor example of what you can expect.

the drapping is true she needs to tighty up but over all its very professional i love the way she explains it as a massage therapist and as 4 a client

Overall not very professional, draping not well presented and most importantly when doing pressure work you should ONLY ever work in the direction of the heart as you are influencing blood flow etc……

effleurage is always performed towards the heart , Deep Tissue doesn’t have to .

Elbows on lower back is a no no. esp if someone has lower back pain, no feedback with elbows, only use hands.

@jcricket67… when it comes to doing work on the back you can work in any direction necessary to the technique you are using b/c the muscles in the back go in different directions as with the feet and hands there is not specific direction to go in. Also with deep tissue you can work against the flow at certain points b/c they are slow movements that will not cause the blood flow to be blocked or slowed down

nanz is right you need to warm up the muscles first with lighter work before you go in deep, why down rate?

thanks tehgreatist
I just suggested that there should AT LEAST be an explanation (at the beginning of the video) about warming up the muscles which the therapist plans to do deep tissue.
I didn’t go to school for nothing.
I mean, c’mon ppl why the thumbs down?? would you like it if someone just dug their elbow into your muscles without any light massage first..?
just ponder that thought***

haha and so did I !!! But I practice proper draping and warm up any muscles I plan to do deep tissue on.. that’s pretty much a no-brainer~ duhh
